Unlike the cold, windy weather in Joshua Tree, Christen and Billy’s reception the following day was a full on desert oasis at the Ace Hotel in Palm Springs. Guests spent the afternoon lounging by the pool, which included inflatable swan rafts, a giant inflatable T-rex, and several floating mandalas that we created with tropical foliage.
The teepee was our pride and joy. When I sat down with Bash, Please and the bride for a brainstorming session, a teepee was mentioned, and I just so happened to own one (as all normal people do). We set it up that morning and decorated it with palm fronds, protea and banksia. I love how it turned out!
Destination weddings, while sometimes stressful, really are so much fun. It’s always an adventure working out of an Airbnb, eating lots of take out and spending time with such talented folk. And don’t even get me started on Max Wanger. It’s always an honor to work with him, and he captured the wedding beautifully.
Be sure to check out Martha Stewart Weddings for more pictures and details of the reception!
